Where is the thousands of dollars made from CWs going then? The site is still a mess. Hire some new staff or something x.x You guys clearly have too much on your plate.

I love how oblivious people are about how many thousands of dollars it costs to host websites of this size every month.

They managed fine before the CW system and you can’t deny that it’s a massive source of income for the site. Which is great but I just don’t see many improvements being done to the site. The new CW shop is great but there are so many problems with the site right now.

I’ve also pointed out that we’ve really stopped releasing the number of CS items that we did prior to the CW release. This has free’d the creative department up to work on other things (like moderating the CW queue).

None of the site money goes to my traveling. I’m paid to work on Subeta, and I use that money to travel (I also don’t rent an apartment, have a cellphone bill, or a car, etc) where I hold meetups :)

I am SO mad.
I put two of my CWs in the new CW cash shop thing they have going. They told us that once we sold the first 10 of one item, that we would be getting one for free.

I was so excited, because I hated dealing with the forums all the time when I have been sick and…

I answered your question, we are unable to get those numbers back. If you sold 18 items last night, it’s probably not going to take you months to do that again.

Also, I imagine if you are like most CW artists you got a version of your item in the first batch. We made this “free item” as an incentive when we set the price to 500CSC, it almost didn’t make it to the 600CSC price change.

I’m sorry that you’re unhappy with this, but when I answered and said there is nothing that I could do, a UA isn’t going to be able to do anything. I hope you aren’t upset at their response, since it was obviously my response.

I get that money doesn’t appear off magical trees, and that Subeta can’t exist on good wishes and fairy dust, but this change was a big fuck you to the users of the site.

Yes, there are items from retired trunks that may actually indeed sell for more than 250 csc. It’s a fact as sad as that may be, (a single item costing 1/2 of the trunks original value…Pixie Power is a good example) and I don’t blame you for wanting to capitalize on that idea while you can.

Breaking all the retired trunks apart and selling each piece off for 250 csc? Did you even look at the Shop Search? You can check the values and clearly see that there is no way 90% of those items would be worth that much.

The thing that bothered me the most (besides the disgusting display of price gouging— and yes some people have accidentally purchased an item or two) is the response that staff gave.That obviously takes time, and we will go through a lot of items that no one wants. At least he’s restocking

Of course it takes time. Does that mean all the while you should continue to take advantage of people?

I am really sad Subeta, this isn’t what I would expect from you.

I actually posted that I agree with the points that people raised, and we’d be taking items out under a certain value, and increasing the amount of time between restocks.

I’m not sure where you saw a response that made it seem like we’re trying to take advantage of people, though.

The problem with this example is we don’t know these people. We have the information in front of us that shows they’ve logged in the same computer, sent items to each other, and a number of other factors that we use to identify multiple accounts (there is a 3+ requirement before we freeze!)

We can’t verify statements like “Oh, that’s just my friend!”, so while I’m sure your friends are really upset that they’re frozen, it’s just not something we can do unless we want everyone being frozen, which the majority of are legitimate cheaters.

I think that Subeta handled the latest Gold Account squib really gracefully and well, and giving out these items on good faith was really sweet of them. :)

To be honest, it could have been handled much better. :/ For example, by making a backup before fiddling with…

That’s really something that worries me. What would happen if someone fiddled with something even more important, like stats, pet slots, sP in vaults, vault items… are there backups of those? (No I don’t know any reason why they would be fiddled with but still…)

My guess? In the scenario that pet slots got wiped, everyone would probably end up with a news post saying “oops, we messed up! Here’s one free pet slot totem for everyone”. :|

I’m one of those people who had a GA going for over 6 years and to say that I’m disappointed it a gross understatement. The whole compensation, Keith’s posts and the news post essentially read like this to me:
“Thanks for supporting the site continuously for 6+ years through all the downtime, crashes, server moves and DDoS attacks, but we kind of messed up and didn’t think ahead before messing with things we weren’t really comfortable with messing with in the first place. lol sorry bro. u mad? Here’s free 3 months and a free 1 week GA medal, though. cuz we’re cool like that and can’t be bothered to actually fix this.”

I think I made it clear there was nothing to fix. Also, I’ve been telling the UAs (and posting in the forums) if you had a specific date that you started a GA and wanted that added back, I’d be happy to do that.

Most people want to participate in plots but can’t because their pets aren’t level 200:/ I am happy that they did add battling to it..but that doesn’t mean make it so that only the top pets can get at the prices!

Level 200 is hardly a top tier pet, or even remotely difficult to get to.

Physical Servers:

1 x database server

Cloud Servers:

4 x web server (nginx/php-fpm) / memcache node

1 x image / memcache node (with varnish in front)

1 x avatar / memcache node (with varnish in front)

Added Varnish to the front of the image/avatar servers tonight, lets see how much that helps!

Really happy with how this is turning out. Still have to go...

So someone says something thousands of other users have said (“X art on Subeta looks awful”) and they’re targeted via a free gift? Stay classy, Subeta.

Or maybe it’s a sort of tactful way to remind you to be constructive, instead of flat out bitching. Just saying.

This is definitely not tactful: it’s passive-aggressive. Not only did they target a user, they called said user an idiot and make a joke of them by using this item to refer to them. What staff should’ve done was made a thread or an announcement saying that some of the things in the feedback forum have been more complaints than feedback, and they should’ve said what it is that they need from users in order to do better. There’s no need for members of staff to sink to this level so that they feel better. It’s unprofessional, it’s rude, and it makes me think that the site is run by twelve-year-olds - people I definitely do not want to be giving my money to.

To be fair, I’m not 100% sure what the free gift was in response to (something about someone saying certain art was crap…?) but I don’t think it matters: I don’t need to know what it’s about to know that this response from Subeta staff is inappropriate in any situation.

Just going to say that this item literally had nothing to do with any one thing in particular. Not a board, not a user, anything.
